AKITA STEEN & FIRE
In October 2022 Akita formed her own Female Contemporary Quartet Group called Akita Steen and Fire; (Fire means God’s holiness and purity.)
Akita created this group with a vision to minister to people nationwide, using music as a catalyst to inspire and motivate individuals in diverse cities, states, and venues. This new group has a unique sound, comprising 6 amazing vocalists with impeccable blend. Akita’s Mother, Evangelist Christine Anderson (Co-founder), sings Tenor and Baritone; She’s been singing Quartet music for over fifty years. Karen Henry, who sings Baritone; She’s been singing Quartet Music for over 30 years. Chanda Washington sings Top, Tenor, and (Bottom) Baritone. She’s been singing for over 20 years, Arnesia Jones who sings Top, She’s been singing over 20 years. and Kayla Smith, who sings Tenor (Utility singer), has been singing since the age of 5.
Please understand that although this is a fairly new group, most of these Women have been singing for decades.
Akita Steen & Fire has been blessed with the opportunity to sing and minister at many incredible church events, festivals, and private events, as well as traveling to do ministry. They’ve had the pleasure of singing in Akron, Ohio, celebrated with the Maestro Michael Mindengall & Communions at their 36th Reunion Concert, Ministered at Hart Plaza, Ribs & R&B Festival, Sang at both Historic churches Baileys Cathedral C.O.G.I.C. and Hartford Memorial M.B.C. The Group released their second Single in October of 2024, titled “He Answers Prayers,” and celebrated at their “Unplugged” concert. They were apart of many of the local Artists Anniversaries and concerts as well as celebrated with the legendary G.M.W.A 100-voice Women’s Choir and were special guests at Pastor Anthony Starks church, Life Church Detroit, C.O.G.I.C where their video went viral on YouTube because of such a dynamic ministry performance. They’ve been nominated for the 2025 Texas Gospel Music Award for Female Group of the Year and The 2025 Golden Triangle Music Award for Contemporary Group of the Year.
Akita Steen and Fire are looking forward to the new opportunities ahead and will keep striving for excellence while being vessels working in God’s Kingdom.
